Huskee, started in Australia in 2017 – with the help of a Kickstarter campaign – to make a reusable cup from naturally occurring coffee husks and recyclable polypropylene.

The cup and lid combo is perfect for coffee on the go. The lid fits any size and completes the cup for the best on the go experience. It has no moving parts and designed more like a t/a cup (so don't put it in your bag full!).

Beauty meets function: The iconic fins offer exceptional insulation while the lid can be pushed on with one hand. The drain slots on the base of the cup remove excess water after a dishwasher cycle.

Plus with nothing to take apart, it’s easy to clean and hygienic.

Form & Function: A key focus of our design is how the cups hold up in a cafe environment. They need to be durable, take a beating in daily service, and be stackable. All Huskee cups, saucers and lids can be stacked, which is handy at home too.

Huskee’s Universal Lid features a triangulation of vents on its roof. This increases the aromatics of your drinking experience, whilst also enabling the ideal pour rate. The reservoir allows coffee to pool at the spout, creating the same drinking experience as an open HuskeeCup.

HuskeeCup is made from a unique eco-composite polymer chosen after extensive research and development and features coffee husk, a thin layer that surrounds the coffee seed or bean.

What is the Huskee Cup made from?:
While it may seem counter-intuitive, the primary polymer we have chosen is a plastic called Polypropylene. Why plastic, you may ask? We decided on Polypropylene with the following goals in mind:

  1. Producing a durable product that can withstand the rigours of the café environment
  2. Producing a cup whose materiality complement and highlight the innovative design features
  3. Creating a material that can be recycled, reused and re-purposed at the end of its life in an environmentally friendly and efficient way.
